Stained Glass Privacy Panel..."Flower Power," almost complete.

Here is the panel that we showed off  last week...well here is the progress....almost done...thank goodness for glass saws!  Check out the background glass...only a saw could do some of these cuts.  I have to admit the hardest thing we did was reassemble said saw.... which I dismantled over a year ago... Now it runs so well...new bearings, bushings and diamond blade! Sweet!

Absolutely beautiful & functional. Our latest privacy panel.

OK I know that we are a little biased...Here is the next project to leave the studio this week...A privacy panel for clients in Oakville...Now this is a little different ..it is almost a landscape...or should I  say "waterscape"  Amazing glass for the water is Kokomo Blue Green in Clear Streaky.(One of my favorite...)  This is a great demonstration of glass transformed.  This is the same glass we used in the St Michael Hospital panel in Toronto...One project was a leaded contemporary..and this one is a copperfoiled waterscape...Awesome!

In this project we used most manufactures that are readily available..Spectrum Glass Company for the sky, Bullseye Glass in Cranberry for the flowers, Paul Wissmach Glass for some plants, Uroboros for plants and even some Yogy...

Amanda has been working away on this panel..truely another labor of love...

Today we were at St Mike's Hospital in Toronto installing some BEAUTIFUL GLASS!!

www.glassworksstudio.caToday we spent the afternoon at SMH in Toronto..it was a great afternoon...installing some beautiful privacy panels.  Dominant glass used in regards to color pigment was English Muffle Cobalt Blue and PW CC in cobalt blue...and although these were privacy panels we used quite a bit of GNA and Restover at the top section of the panels...so that the Toronto sky shines through.  These panels are "Mondrian" in style and inspired by the love of cobalt blue and watercolors..... as clearly represented with the Kokomo Green, Blue in Clear Ripple.

Love these pieces and I hope that you love them too...Relaxing ...Heart Racing....Cool ..ALL AT ONCE!

This weekend at the studio..a little cold glass work and some hot glass too...

This weekend was busy...well I feel like I live at the studio lately...  Saturday morning started really early...my friend Frances dropped in and I introduced her to the kiln...she made herself a little tile...not bad for a newbee ...  I continued working on the Ottawa project..finished a few door inserts and started the layout for the final transom panels...

Today my mom came out to help...being a "glasser" also..she completed some overlay kitchen cabinet panels for me...she was a great help and nice company...  At home my dad was making our supper...I love it when my parents are in town...  :)

Her are some shots of the work completed this weekend...Have a great week!

Progress...custom bevels done..now panel assembly..

whew!!!Ok all of the custom bevels are done...finally...in case you did not know...beveling is only expensive because it is so time consuming..  Now that they are done the door lites have to be copperfoiled and soldered...YES...this means there is still a lot of work to complete before I hit the beach...These door lites are all being installed in a grandroom/sunroom.. I should say "GREAT" room.  Every appointment at this residence is simply elegant.  A few touches of "BLING."  I love it!

So these are my column door lites in progress..Let me know what you think.

Have a Great Weekend!
