A beautiful beveled entry.... privacy with tons of light transmission!

This project developed over a course of two studio visits & followed with many text messages. We definitely got it right in the end.  This stunning from doorlite created with bevels, bevels and more bevels. The supporting cast included a Paul Wissmach clear cathedral, and a little German New Antique.  Traditional lead technique was the build process used, followed with the panel being sealed within a tempered thermal unit. Love this project! Glassworks Studio 2023

Adding Design and Privacy to a stairway window in South Mississauga

This window located on the south elevation is beautifully lit almost the entire day. I chose to use predominantly drawn antiques for this project from a historic palette.

Jewels and some custom bevel work adds to the bling. This window shimmers in the sunlight. Its personality changing as the sun shifts.

We are back to this location in 2020 to complete a spectacular front entrance.  Details to come.

Revisiting 2019 Leaded Glass Projects, Glassworks Studio Toronto

Welcoming 2020 with a smile while remembering all the great projects we completed.(stained glass, leaded glass, little blasting and even some hot)

One project that we completed started with an artwork proposal in 2015. Focusing on what might have existed jn this historically relevant home in Toronto.

Circles & Stars and  Ovals & Stars

1/4 imported German New Antique from France, with the majority of custom beveling  completed in Mexico.  This was truely a global project for the studio. A total of 65 leaded windows were installed.

Timeless and elegant. Accessorized with steep beveling  for even more sparkle.
This project really built around all my loves of design and specialized materials. There are no other windows built like these anywhere globally.

These make me smile. Glassworks Studio

Many Interior door inserts for the custom build in South Mississauga, Glassworks Studio Toronto CANADA

We completed many panels in this beautiful custom build. Cabinet inserts, interior butler doors and even triple IGUs for the wine cellar.  All aspects of this house flow...unified with little nuances tied together.  Beautiful...   Look for yourself.  I love this entire space!

Completion of a Grand Entrance! Glassworks Studio Toronto

This week we completed the 2nd phase of this beautiful project we are proud to be part of.  The last section to go in was the third level of the leaded glass entry and as you can see we have no issues with heights.

These panels are pure in design flare.  Simplicity at its finest...demonstrating that sometimes the absolute strongest statement is understated. Glass selection was bevels, bevels and more bevels and the background is of course GNA.

Glassworks Studio is a custom design /build stained and leaded glass studio working in the Greater Toronto Area. We specialize in functional art glass for residential applications.

Leaded Glass Interior Doorlites for King City Project... This week in studio...

This week is all about interior leaded doorlites.. for the study, the secondary kitchen and also the wine cellar. We are working in King City on this great project. It also includes a  new window in the Cabana that pulls the cut granite pattern from around the pool into this window design... It will be amazing with all different clears with texture to keep the privacy level high while adding depth and dimension to the panel.

Today our  bevels from the UK arrived...to my dismay some of the profiles are slightly different from my old stock....  One doorlite of a pair was already built when my stock ran out...so I had to perform surgery this moring -removing the central bevel detail on this first doorlite and then reassembling...  As crazy as this may seem.. so much fun...and a challenge. Loved it.

Here are pictures of the development of these doorlites...what you do not see is the operation that was later completed successfully.
