Simple, Elegant and Timeless Interior Leaded Door Panels for Oakville Project.

Today I had what ended up being an awesome pick me up for a day that was "a little frustrating...it was not a good cutting day at all for me.. Late this afternoon I received a call from our client in Indiana who received her shipment of  leaded glass panels  today...  And to say elated would be an understatement.    I cannot express our joy when another person understands our love for glass and our passion for what we do... Well she got... and loves it.

Here is the concept for the interior glass doors....a September project in Oakville.

Here are the sidelites for the CRM inspired door lite that we posted last week.... These beauties sparkle....  Glass is Wissmach light Amber Cathedral interior border with Clear Cathedral in the outer border and interior...  and of course a band of bevels for some bling...

These are being installed next week by Statements which is based in Oakville and Markham.

Oakville Homes Ad 2013

 

Here is a pic of the ad that will be Oakville Homes Magazine this fall...  This oval that we designed and custom bevelled for this Mississauga Client is a dominant feature in many of the panels that we completed for this project. "Timeless Elegance," is what draws me back to these panels so often...  Glass that surrounds the bevels are my favorites.. GNA and German Cathedral.

Leaded Glass Office Doors in Toronto by Glassworks Studio...

This morning we finished up the leaded glass doors we were working on..  These doors originally had acid etched panels in them. We removed them from site...removed the glass and design and built these beautiful panels.  What a great transformation... Love them.. GNA and bevels...and totally unique.  Here are pics of initial concept proposal and the final panels installed..

This summer is flying by....we had to leave early this week to relax after a couple of really busy weeks in studio...not to mention a trip out West for a client meeting and a awesome night at Fort Calgary...  Great music.. great friends... and great food..  Amanda did a great job running everything smoothly in the studio.. 
 
Here are some pictures of windows that were finished up the first week in June but not installed until this past Thursday... The first picture is of the existing leaded windows in the beautiful house in downtown Toronto and the second picture is of the new leaded glass windows we built for another bank of windows..  Don't they look they are were always there....  Timeless and elegant..

Leaded Glass Privacy Panel by Glassworks Studio, Mississauga.

Here is what is happening at Glassworks Studio this week...a large Leaded Glass Privacy Panel for between a master suite and the ensuite ...German Cathedral for privacy.. some custom bevel work for bling, earthy greens, soft ambers and the "WOW factor is the Rusty Red.."  Loving this one.. :)

BEVELS, BEVELS, bevels.....at Glassworks Studio...An amazing exterior door lite off to Halifax...

OK...this has been a crazy month.... Halifax, Ohio, Blue Mountain...and possibly Edmonton...So exciting...  I have been working on a custom door lite we are producing with our friends in San Diego..  Every piece of glass will be bevelled and then leaded......  The Jewel of the front Entry... final mock up done  and now the bevelling begins....  LOVE IT!

Sales Centre Condo in NYC...beautiful design..beautiful leaded cabinet inserts, Glassworks Studio Toronto!

Sad Times for our industry...

Ok..this month of April has been an awakening for some in our industry and for others rumours of the last few years came to fruition...  Our last major wholesaler in Ontario filed for bankruptcy.  To me it is a sad event as truthfully this will affect us all.. even those of us who do the majority of our purchasing in the States. This is not the time to let a lack of professionalism take over.. the loss of this supplier results in the loss of one level of purchasing. It will affect all of us from the professional studio owner to the hobbyist who simply enjoy their GLASS TIME..

On a happier note...I think Spring is here.. construction is definitely in full swing and there are a lot of great things shaping up for the rest of 2013 at my studio.  And the new studio space is finally starting to take shape. The sprinklers were raised up to 30 feet on Friday so that we can raise the ceiling in the work space...I am thinking glass studio in the lower section with my fancy heavy wood trim casing around glass panels, windows and the door jambs...but industrial look above ..I think if will be cool.. :) I want to suspend some of the glass light fixtures we have been working on..  of course some ceiling panels...

Last week I enjoyed a great day out with  photographer Dean Carvey. We snapped some great shots of previous sites.. for Toronto Home Magazine.  ENJOY..... I AM!
