First 2014 Project on the tables and she is large...

Ok..although we are still working on quite a few projects that need to be wrapped up before Christmas this year ...we are very excited about this project due in the first week of January 2014..  Total window space is over 72" wide and 96" tall, but split into 6 compartments...  High obscurity with a lot of bling...just my style...  Love it.  Here is the initial concept sketch.. and although there will be plenty of changes I know she is going to be amazing.

Here is a site picture of another great project we have completed. These window are located in our client's master bath..  first concern was to significantly increase the privacy in this room and of course we also wanted complete this window treatment beautifully..

End product is a stunning bank of windows with complete privacy -tub positioned directly in front of windows-  with complete natural light transmission..  Glass is the only possible way to achieve all three of these concerns flawlessly.

Leaded Glass Toronto, The creation of a skylight..

ok...today I was asked where does the process all begin....  At first I shot back a quick answer... "In my brain..  "... and then I started to laugh..  Well it all depends on the project and where the inspiration starts.....  the project that is currently under development is a large skylight space.. The rough opening that we are talking about is 140". Having amazing trades is so important.. From fine home builder, designer, gc, and trades.. We look at some details being incorporated into the project.. discuss the possibilities.  That is where it all starts...  SO EXCITING IS THIS BUILD PROCESS!   Here is the initial concept for this beautiful project as it starts...  might not look like much now...but OMG she will be beautiful!

We created a huge mess this week in the studio and a few beautiful windows also..

By the end of this week the studio needed a thorough clean up.  Friday I washed the walls, the floors, vacuumed the cutting tables...put boxes of bevels away.. ordered more stock... Oh I also painted giant chalk boards on the wall of my office..to try to improve the organization and flow.  I have to say it was an awesome week again although pretty exhausting.  Here are a few pictures.. including a dirty look at our bevelling station...

Custom bevelled privacy panel..PART TWO..

This is why we love what we do...amazing clients and amazing projects!  Fridays is the catch up on paperwork day at the studio for me...by myself...I might meet with a few clients...but this day is suppose to be about reorganizing myself for the next week. "I did some paperwork today, but not much"... I just could not stop trying to capture the awesome light refraction going on in this panel... And although I did get some good shots..it is so hard to get the perfect one...  maybe I should go to photography class... I need some help.

This panel has so much going on..  Final destination is an amazing multi story condo in Toronto.  (Huge windows with tons of natural light...what I would term transitional design detail..) This panel incorporates some of the design detail from original leaded glass panels from the upper floor in the outer border...  deco.  The inner section is an adaptation from the panel we finished a few months ago.. We have incorporated a intense brown to pull in the color of the hardwood throughout the condo.  Except for the greens used in the leaves be have kept the remaining palette clear...crystal clear by using European Glass ..(some Saint Just from France and GNA from Germany.) As mentioned previously Starfire was used in the custom bevels we made and also some PWC Cathedral.   All of my favorites. Besides the beauty of this panel what also is amazing in the interior structure we have creating the flow of glass cut that intersection.  This makes the panel so strong from a structure point of view while adding to the beauty of the piece...  All most admirers see is a beautiful panel... I see a structurally stable "beautiful panel."  ;)
