It is all in the details! Leaded Cabinet Inserts by Glassworks Studio.

These cabinet inserts are definitely two of a kind...  We took our artistic detail from beautiful tile that is highlighted in this custom kitchen....  As you can see there is nothing like them...Beautiful and functional art glass!

Relaxing privacy panel...leaded glass, kiln fired bubbles, and some artistic flare!.. Glassworks Studio..Toronto.

This week we have been watching a few more projects finish up... Some amazing door lites with great clarity and bevels that blow your mind. (just because they are triple bevelled on both sides..)  A trillium panel for a great client we have worked for previously and some great privacy panels.

And this panel... a beautiful water inspired privacy panel.. Focusing on the clients'  vision.... water, organic, fluid, free form...to name a few details... full privacy required!

So we came up with some designs and off we went...  Amanda fired the kiln a few times to create the "bubbles," using the glass that the leaded panel was created from...  NICE!  Every part of this panel flows beautifully and is created with the same glass ..cold worked and kiln fired.  SO COOL..  and custom bevels..  It is amazing how an already beautiful sheet glass seems to become "more so" once fired.. the colors are intensified and glossy!
 Here are the pics...

Leaded Glass Transoms X 5... Glassworks Studio this week..

Every table at the studio is busy...whether we are making custom bevels, cutting the glass for the next leaded panel, building and glazing panels or applying the patina and polish...everywhere is go, go .. go! And I must admit I love it.. this craziness.  One might think by Friday we would all be exhausted but no...  Friday was a great day from the early morning start (7am) to the finish... (7pm)

Today I walked through an amazing site I was at 2 years ago.. well it is almost ready for us...first up will be interior doors...  then exteriors, transom windows and the entry...  This project will be worked on at a methodical pace.. with other projects being worked on during the entire process..  The largest build I have worked on ..  unmatched with the quality of the work that has been and is in the process of being completed..  Amazing architectural design, planning and thought...  Simply beautiful..  Great owners ...  this is why I love the process.  Lots of pictures to come in the next few months and over the next few years.

This week ..we shipped 21 windows to be sealed...  another great build in Burlington... these are being sealed with Cardinal 366 and argon to meet their requirements.  We completed the layout for a new entrance for South Mississauga Project...and We  completed the layout and built leaded transom windows for our Hamilton Project.. (the interior door lites are already at this site since before Christmas)  Here is a pic of initial plans and some of the panels on the table being polished.

Custom Design, Custom Build, High End Finish. Custom Leaded Privacy Panels for Oakville Project..

This project is a great way for us to continue our New Year... Working closely with the client and window manufacturer..we ended up focusing our design detail from custom plaster work being created on the ceiling about these 6 panels.  Completely different, very traditional and I think a little gothic..  End result ..."VERY COOL."  We are so excited to see these installed after they return from being sealed in thermal units.

Our New Year is starting just the way I  like it!  A little crazy in studio..We will be starting full scale on a beautiful front door lite for a project in Mississauga.. two small skylite panels for this same project...with some "bling introduced with the addition of Czech Jewels..NICE."

We at Glassworks Studio wish you all an amazing holiday break! And all the best in 2014! " I hope this year brings relaxation in what is ....the excitement of big changes and the acceptance of new ideas ...and a little crazy!" ENJOY!

Leaded Glass Windows Toronto...and some flower power..... Glassworks Studio

Here is a project that we have been working on this week and last...as a refresher...which means we are working on multiple projects and go back to this one... just because..   It is fun, whimsical, and definitely different.  I don't think I have ever seen a glass panel quite like it....  Our reference on this particular project.... a small purse...  Moroccan inspired..

Privacy Leaded Glass Inserts by "Glassworks Studio," Mississauga.

Here is a site picture of another great project we have completed. These window are located in our client's master bath..  first concern was to significantly increase the privacy in this room and of course we also wanted complete this window treatment beautifully..

End product is a stunning bank of windows with complete privacy -tub positioned directly in front of windows-  with complete natural light transmission..  Glass is the only possible way to achieve all three of these concerns flawlessly.

We created a huge mess this week in the studio and a few beautiful windows also..

By the end of this week the studio needed a thorough clean up.  Friday I washed the walls, the floors, vacuumed the cutting tables...put boxes of bevels away.. ordered more stock... Oh I also painted giant chalk boards on the wall of my office..to try to improve the organization and flow.  I have to say it was an awesome week again although pretty exhausting.  Here are a few pictures.. including a dirty look at our bevelling station...

Custom bevelled privacy panel..PART TWO..

This is why we love what we do...amazing clients and amazing projects!  Fridays is the catch up on paperwork day at the studio for me...by myself...I might meet with a few clients...but this day is suppose to be about reorganizing myself for the next week. "I did some paperwork today, but not much"... I just could not stop trying to capture the awesome light refraction going on in this panel... And although I did get some good shots..it is so hard to get the perfect one...  maybe I should go to photography class... I need some help.

This panel has so much going on..  Final destination is an amazing multi story condo in Toronto.  (Huge windows with tons of natural light...what I would term transitional design detail..) This panel incorporates some of the design detail from original leaded glass panels from the upper floor in the outer border...  deco.  The inner section is an adaptation from the panel we finished a few months ago.. We have incorporated a intense brown to pull in the color of the hardwood throughout the condo.  Except for the greens used in the leaves be have kept the remaining palette clear...crystal clear by using European Glass ..(some Saint Just from France and GNA from Germany.) As mentioned previously Starfire was used in the custom bevels we made and also some PWC Cathedral.   All of my favorites. Besides the beauty of this panel what also is amazing in the interior structure we have creating the flow of glass cut that intersection.  This makes the panel so strong from a structure point of view while adding to the beauty of the piece...  All most admirers see is a beautiful panel... I see a structurally stable "beautiful panel."  ;)

Bevels, Bevels, Bevels..Yes..Custom Bevels at the Studio this week..

Yes.... Bevels, Bevels Oh.. Custom Bevels.  We have been bevelling Starphire Glass this week...Talk about Bling....  I really do not know how many times Amanda or myself  was caught just admiring this panel.  We are so excited about it...  Smiling all day..

Very high end glass going in this project...Starphire, Ocean Gluechip, Antique clear Crackle, and of course GNA.  Color is a Kokomo Green along with a Seafoam Green.  The outside border is a chocolate fusible glass that we decided to cut up for this project..  Plenty of sparkle  and some great color saturation too.  WOW..  Yes these pictures look great ...but you should see the real thing.. AMAZING...  We will be working on this next week along with some more doorlites..
